When is it appropriate to call the trading desk?

All our clients are encouraged to call the trading desk under the following conditions:

• No immediate access to the Internet
• Trader fails to receive a confirmation on an order placed online
• Internet failure or failure to connect to the platform server


What if the trade was executed incorrectly?

If you believe that a trade was executed incorrectly please contact the trading desk immediately. Make sure that you have on hand all information pertaining to the trade including: ticket number, time of the trade, and nature of the problem. The trade will be audited, and when necessary an adjustment will be made in a timely manner.

Security

FXCM utilizes state-of-the-art encryption, authentication protocols, and the best firewall protection to ensure that every transaction and customer record is completely authenticated and secure.

FXCM employs back up systems and contingency plans to minimize the possibility of system failures. If there is a problem with a server, all open trades, stop orders, and trading histories are saved on our back-up files. All orders are GTC by default.


Trading Etiquette


To Place a Trade or an Order Via the Phone:

1. Trader/Client: When calling the trading desk, the trader should specify at the outset whether the account is a 100K account or a mini account.

2. Trading Desk: "Can I have your account number, please?" Trader: "My account number is 55555."

3. Trading Desk: "Can I have the name on this account, please?" (The dealer asks this question in order to verify that the caller is indeed the account holder.)

4. Trader: "Please give me a price on USD/JPY for 3 lots." Dealer: Will make a 2-way price, "06.60-65".

5. Trader: Will either say "At 60, "At 65," or "No trade". Dealer: Will confirm "At 106.60, you sold 3 lots of USD/JPY," "At 106.65, you bought 3 lots of USD/JPY," or "No trade, thank you".

Traders CANNOT hold the quoted price, as it is only good for 3 to 5 seconds depending on market volatility. In the event the trader holds the price, the dealer reserves the right to change the price by saying either "change," "price change," "off," or "your risk".

Trading Desk : Will confirm to trader ANY order that is placed during the course of the conversation.

Note: Traders/Clients should not call the trading desk for non-trading related purposes.
